Des Moines Area Community College is proposing an estimated $4.5 million addition to its student services building at 2100 S. Ankeny Blvd. The school would add 11,650 square feet to the existing 26,000 square-foot one-story building, and would allow for a reception area for visiting students and their parents, expanded space for staff and an opportunity to move student services staff from other buildings on campus into the same location, said Laurie Wolf, executive dean of student services. The proposal is on the city of Ankeny’s planning and zoning commission agenda for tonight. If passed, Wolf said, construction will start in March and should be completed by next January.
