DMACC promotes Foster to dean of Industry & Technology Division
Des Moines Area Community College has appointed Jennifer Foster as academic dean for industry and technology. In her new role, Foster will be the districtwide chief administrative officer of departments and programs within the Industry & Technology Division beginning July 1. Foster, who has been associate dean of industry and technology since 2013, joined DMACC as director of program development in 2010. She succeeds Scott Ocken, who was promoted to vice president of academic affairs at DMACC last year. Before joining DMACC, Foster worked as an education consultant for the state of Iowa and held several administrative roles at the former AIB College of Business. Programs within DMACC’s Industry & Technology Division include high-skill areas ranging from cybersecurity and diesel technology to welding. Foster has a business management degree from William Penn University, a master’s degree in teaching and business education from Drake University, and a doctorate in education leadership in policy studies from Iowa State University.
