DMACC receives state approval for additional transfer majors, programs
The Iowa Department of Education has approved eight new transfer majors at Des Moines Area Community College, as well as a new certificate program in acting and an associate’s degree in surgical technology, the college announced. Transfer majors enable students to complete the first two years of the major at DMACC and then easily transfer to a college or university to obtain a four-year bachelor’s degree. Among the new transfer majors are engineering, exercise science and kinesiology, and human and family services, as well as several liberal arts majors. With the new transfer majors, DMACC now offers 19 transfer majors. “The creation of these additional transfer majors demonstrates our commitment to providing our students with a quality education that also aligns and transitions well to their selected programs of study at our partner four-year institutions,” said MD Isley, DMACC’s vice president of academic affairs. The complete list of transfer majors can be found on DMACC’s website.
