Des Moines Area Community College will host a community night event at its Urban Campus in downtown Des Moines from 4 to 7 p.m. today. The free event will feature campus tours, giveaways, refreshments and the planting of a “Founder’s Tree.” The event will feature speakers including Iowa Rep. Ako Abdul-Samad, and aims to celebrate the community support that helped establish the college’s downtown location.
