DMU students to provide medical care in Honduras
Twenty-nine Des Moines University (DMU) students will spend their spring break next week in Honduras, providing medical care to those in need. The student group, organized by DMU’s global health department, will be seeing patients in Los Limones and Pajarillos. The trip is in conjunction with Global Brigades, a nonprofit group that helps student-led groups visit other countries and offer aid. The team is seeking donations of personal-care items to distribute, including toothbrushes, toothpaste, adhesive bandages, antibiotic creams, pain relievers and multivitamins. Items may be dropped off at Global Health Office in the DMU Academic Center, 3440 Grand Ave., through Thursday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
