A major contribution from a Webster City couple will jump-start construction of a new outdoor pool at Clover Woods Camp and Retreat Center near Madrid. Dean and Adele Bowden of Webster City were the lead contributors to the project; other contributors include Prairie Meadows and the Don and Doris and Dennis and Julie Goering families. Construction of the 30-by-60-foot pool will begin in early September and is slated to be complete this fall and open for use in the spring of 2019. The project also includes upgraded and updated bathhouse facilities. The old pool will be completely demolished and will become a new parking area. “We are grateful to the Bowdens for their generosity and vision in supporting this project,” said Emily Saveraid, executive director of the Iowa 4-H Foundation.
