The Chronicle of Higher Education recognized Drake University in its 2012 Great Colleges to Work For survey. The Chronicle singled out Drake for excellence in two categories: tenure clarity and process and teaching environment. According to Drake employees’ responses, the University’s requirements for achieving tenure are clearly defined. Drake faculty also reported the university excels at recognizing innovative and high-quality teaching. The publication conducts an annual survey of professors, professional staff and administrators at accredited U.S. institutions. This year, 294 institutions participated in the survey. Employee feedback was the primary factor in deciding whether an institution received recognition.
