U.S. Education Secretary Arne Duncan will be the keynote speaker at the Iowa Education Summit, which is scheduled to take place July 25-26 in Des Moines. The summit, which Gov. Terry Branstad announced last month during his inaugural address, will focus on innovation, academic standards and the effectiveness of educators. “It is our hope that educators, community leaders, business executives, parents and lawmakers from across the state will be among Iowans attending,” Branstad said in a press release. More details about the event are expected to be announced in coming weeks.
