Teresa Hursey will become the next president of Amerigroup Iowa Inc., which is a wholly owned subsidiary of Elevance Health. As president, Hursey will be responsible for all aspects of Amerigroup’s operations across the state, ensuring its more than 280,000 members receive access to health care and support services. She will also lead efforts to strengthen relationships in the community with state leaders, providers and other key stakeholders. Hursey will succeed Jeffrey Jones, who was recently named vice president of Medicare duals strategy for Elevance Health. Hursey has more than 30 years of experience in both public and private sector roles focused on health care, including positions as state Medicaid director in Illinois and vice president of finance at the Illinois Health and Hospital Association. Hursey most recently served as president of Amerigroup New Jersey, where she was responsible for Medicaid growth strategies and development that focused on health plan retention and operations.
