Gov. Kim Reynolds awarded Thursday 38 employers $1.4 million in grants from the Future Ready Iowa Employer Innovation Fund. The awards will help more than 3,500 Iowans earn credentials that prepare them to enter or maintain high-demand jobs. Grants range from $1,000 to $50,000 and can cover training and education supply costs. “Solving Iowa’s workforce needs over the long term is going to require a wide range of approaches and a willingness to embrace new ideas,” Beth Townsend, director of Iowa Workforce Development, said in a release. “These grants are rewarding Iowa businesses for developing new ways to solve their own workforce issues.” A full list of awards is available on the Future Ready Iowa website.
