Entrepreneur Field Days events to celebrate local startups

278 wordsAll Latest News, Economic DevelopmentThe Greater Des Moines Partnership’s first Entrepreneur Field Days series will feature seven events taking place in October and November at different businesses in the region.
The series will allow entrepreneurs to learn from other each other about building a small business and startup community in Central Iowa.
The series will begin with “Seeding A New Innovation In Ag” from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Oct. 10 at PowerPollen in Ames, where Todd Krone and Jason Cope, co-founders of PowerPollen, will discuss new technologies to improve seed production and prove that technology through field testing. They will also share about building a scalable business and attracting global customers and partnerships, among other topics.
The remaining Entrepreneur Field Days schedule is:
- Oct. 18: “Creating A Sustainable Food Movement” at Grade A Gardens in Earlham
- Oct. 25: “Building An Inclusive Community Through The Outdoors” at Wander Women in Des Moines
- Nov. 1: “Building The Business of Music in DSM + Live Show” at xBk Live in Des Moines
- Nov. 2: “Servicing Analog And Bringing Brands To Life” at Lashier Graphics in Grimes
- Nov. 8: “Creating A League Of Their Own In Hot Sauces” at Lola’s Fine Hot Sauces in Altoona
- Nov. 16: “Bootstrapping Pays Off At Scale” at VizyPay in Waukee
“We know that entrepreneurs learn best from entrepreneurs,” Diana Wright, startup community builder with the Greater Des Moines Partnership, said in a press release. “By offering a free and easy way to connect through the Entrepreneur Field Days, we can spotlight the success of local entrepreneurs and help even more businesses get off the ground in Greater Des Moines. Success leaves clues.”
