EPA expands scope of Energy Star-rated fryers
The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has announced a new Energy Star category related to commercial fryers, a common appliance in the food service industry. As of April 22, large vat gas and electric fryers were both made eligible to earn an Energy Star label, based on EPA-recognized testing procedures. According to the agency, Energy Star-qualified vat fryers are 10 percent to 35 percent more energy efficient than standard models. For more information, click here.
