The Des Moines Area Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) announced the search for a new executive director  in a news release. The position will lead regional transportation planning efforts, overseeing an anticipated $80 million investment in the “Mobilizing Tomorrow” project and developing a comprehensive safety action plan. Over the past five years, the organization has invested $75 million in local transportation projects, and the new executive director, expected to start in April, will play a key role in shaping the region’s long-range transportation plan. The search is being conducted by MPO’s Policy and Search committees, as well as business strategists Cassandra Halls of 2 the Top, and Diana Deibler of Deibler & Co.
