Facebook adds feature to counter Google
Facebook Inc. yesterday unveiled tools to give users more control over personal information, which officials called a pre-emptive strike against Google Inc., Reuters reported.
A new “Groups” feature will make it easier for users to interact with circles of friends, instead of having photos and personal messages openly viewable to an entire friends list. The move came after a Google staffer published a paper identifying the inability of social networks to distinguish between multiple social groups.
