Those were the findings of a Des Moines Register analysis of Iowa Department of Transportation records conducted as the All-Iowa Auto Show rolls into Des Moines this weekend at the Iowa State Fairgrounds. The registration data shows the overwhelming favorite automaker among Iowans is Chevrolet. It’s the most-registered brand in 84 of Iowa’s 99 counties. The runner-up: Ford. Both companies made more than twice as many of the vehicles registered in Iowa as their nearest competition, which was Dodge. The DOT data reflects a long Iowa love affair with the F-150, the most popular vehicle in the state.
