Gov. Kim Reynolds and West Des Moines Mayor Russ Trimble have announced that Feb. 28 will be the fifth annual Day of Kindness. The event was created by the West Des Moines Chamber of Commerce’s Leadership Academy Alumni, who were seeking a way to make a positive impact on the community, according to a news release. A sock drive will be held Feb. 28 at the WDM Chamber office between 8 a.m. and 9 a.m. The donations will support West Des Moines Human Services through a “Socks of Love” campaign created by WDM Leadership Academy alum Mick Grossman.
