An electrical outage caused a partial disruption in production at the Bridgestone USA plant in Des Moines. Company officials said the outage occurred Friday. The partial disruption lasted three days and the plant was back to normal operation on Monday, officials said. Company officials said the disruption did not affect staffing levels, but they did not comment on how the plant’s production levels were affected or what caused the electrical outage. The plant, commonly referred to locally as the Firestone plant, makes tires for the agriculture and construction industries. It employs about 1,300 people, according to the company website. Bridgestone acquired the Firestone Tire & Rubber Co. in 1988.
