Five Iowa credit unions are on Forbes’ new list of top-rated credit unions in the United States. They are, in order: Community 1st Credit Union in Ottumwa, Ascentra Credit Union in Bettendorf, Community Choice Credit Union in Johnston, Dupaco Community Credit Union in Dubuque and Veridian Credit Union in Waterloo. The rankings were based on consumer sentiment and included 147 credit unions across the U.S. Forbes partnered with market research firm Statista to survey nearly 31,000 U.S. consumers about their opinions on current and former financial relationships. Banks and credit unions were rated on overall recommendations and satisfaction. Online reviews and ratings posted on Google Reviews between March 2020 and April 2023 were also evaluated for each bank and credit union. These reviews and ratings accounted for 20% of the scoring, while the surveys accounted for 80%, according to Forbes. For the full list of rankings and scores, click here.
