Food festival to feature live cooking challenge
The U.S. Cellular World Food Festival will celebrate its seventh year on Oct. 7-9 in the East Village in downtown Des Moines. The festival will showcase a diverse range of cuisines from 31 locally owned and operated Cultural Cafes, as well as live cooking demonstrations, a marketplace, children’s activities and live entertainment. New this year will be the Buy Fresh, Buy Local Cooking Challenge, which is scheduled Oct. 8 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. For more information about the festival, visit www.WorldFoodFestival.org.
