An informational forum for veterans about the Promise to Address Comprehensive Toxics Act of 2022 will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. Wednesday at the South Des Moines VA Primary Care Clinic, at 1211 E. Army Post Road. The PACT Act expands VA health care and benefits for veterans exposed to burn pits and other toxic substances. Eligible veterans include those who served during the Vietnam, Gulf War, and post-9/11 eras. During the forum, veterans will be provided information about the new law, get screening, fill out enrollment and/or eligibility forms, and file a claim. Eligibility counselors will be on-site to help veterans file claims. The informational portion of the event will be aired on a Facebook live feed that can be accessed here.
