The Neighborhood Finance Corp. (NFC) will host an event for community members focused on Black homeownership in Polk County from 10 a.m. to noon, on June 1, at the Des Moines Central Library. The event will feature speakers from the Directors Council and Tylonda Mason from the Greater Des Moines chapter of the National Association of Real Estate Brokers (NAREB), who will discuss economic disparities and strategies to foster a supportive real estate environment for people of color. Bridgett Robinson from NFC will also present resources available to aspiring homeowners. The event is part of NFC’s annual NeighborWorks Week celebration. This year’s theme, “Empowering Communities for Success,” emphasizes community engagement in overcoming historical barriers to homeownership. For more details and registration, visit NFC’s website or contact Robinson at brobinson@neighborhoodfinance.org.
