Four stars for United Way of Central Iowa
For the eighth consecutive year, United Way of Central Iowa has earned Charity Navigator’s four-star rating for sound fiscal management and commitment to accountability and transparency. Charity Navigator’s highest rating indicates that United Way “adheres to good governance and other best practices that minimize the chance of unethical activities and consistently executes its mission in a fiscally responsible way,” Ken Berger, president and CEO of Charity Navigator, wrote in a congratulatory letter to United Way President Mary Sellers, according to a news release. One percent of the 5,500 charities evaluated by Charity Navigator have achieved eight consecutive four-star ratings, according to the release.
