Gasoline reaches $3.08 in Iowa
The average price for a gallon of regular unleaded gasoline in Iowa is now $3.08, which is 2 cents below the national average of $3.10, according to data from the U. S. Energy Information Administration (EIA). And the average price of 10 percent ethanol blended mid-grade gas in Iowa reached $3 per gallon on Jan. 17, a 5.6 percent increase from the December average price of $2.84. Continued increases in global demand, a weakening dollar and a rising stock market will continue to put upward pressure on crude oil prices, the EIA estimates.
