More than 65 percent of Greater Des Moines’ workforce has education beyond high school, a gain of 14 percentage points since 2008, a new report card shows. The figure jumped 3.6 percent since 2016, Iowa Workforce Development reported. The Greater Des Moines Partnership’s Education Drives Our Greater Economy (EDGE) program has a goal for 75 percent of working-age adults to have post high school degrees, certification or credentials by 2025. The Partnership reports that 70 percent of jobs in the Des Moines market require some postsecondary experience by 2025.
