Girls Rock Des Moines is honored to announce that they’ve been awarded a generous grant from Variety – the Children’s Charity to purchase new drum sets for practice and performance. Girls Rock Des Moines has been empowering girls, gender-expansive, nonbinary and trans youths through music education, workshops and performance opportunities since 2013. With the grant, the nonprofit organization will purchase all new drum sets for the Girls Rock Summer camps and rehearsal spaces. “We could not be any more excited for the expanded programming to come, thanks to the continued support of Variety – the Children’s Charity. YOU ROCK!” said Executive Director Rachel Gulick in a press release.
