Goodwill of Central Iowa has announced it will expand its e-commerce operation at its headquarters in Johnston. The expansion will add 28,000 square feet of dedicated space to sort, post and ship items sold on its e-commerce platform shopgoodwill.com/desmoines and add equipment that supports efficiency and automation. Goodwill plans to complete the expansion by early 2025, according to a news release. Goodwill’s e-commerce platform has operated since 1999 and more than 110 Goodwill organizations across the country list and sell items on the site. The site offers an auction-style shopping experience with all revenue funding Goodwill’s programs and services, the news release said.
