Des Moines and West Des Moines combined to be named the No. 6 best city to move to according to a recent Yahoo.com article.

Yahoo used a list of factors from cost of living to crime rates to health, as judged by BestPlaces.net publisher Bert Sperling.

The article, which labeled the area as Des Moines-West Des Moines, called the city “very livable” and said it has “nice culture.”

The article mentioned a cost of living at 12 percent below the national average and a median home cost that is more than $20,000 below the national average.

The article also cited a low unemployment rate, 400 factories and 60 insurance companies based in the area.

The Iowa caucuses also made an impression. “Your vote really counts here,” the article states.
