The Greater Des Moines Partnership is organizing a series of public policy forums throughout 2023 to discuss important issues affecting Greater Des Moines, according to a release. The first forum, scheduled for Feb. 16 from noon to 1 p.m., will focus on child care. A panel of experts will provide insights on the importance of investments and policies aimed at increasing child care options for Iowa families and stabilizing the child care workforce. Confirmed panelists include Sheri Penney of the Iowa Women’s Foundation and Chris Sackett of the BrownWinick Law Firm. Additional panelists will be announced as they are confirmed. The event is free to attend and will be held in a hybrid format with the option to attend in person or receive a livestream link. Registration is required. Individuals can register online.
