Grinnell College hires VP for finance

Grinnell College announced it has hired Keith Archer as its vice president for finance and treasurer of the college. Archer is currently vice president for finance and administrative services for Knox College in Galesburg, Ill. He succeeds Kate Walker, who retired in early November after working at the college since 2013. She continues to assist the college as a senior adviser. Nancy Combs, controller and assistant treasurer, will remain interim CFO until Archer joins the college this summer. As a member of Grinnell College’s senior leadership team, Archer will provide strategic vision, leadership and direction for the college’s financial operations, as well as for human resources, facilities management, risk management and auxiliary services. He has more than 35 years of professional experience, including nearly 13 years in higher education administration at Knox and at DePauw University in Greencastle, Ind. Grinnell and Knox are two of the 14 members of the Associated Colleges of the Midwest partnership.
