Grocers offer grants for outdoor projects
The Iowa Grocery Industry Association is offering grants of up to $2,000 for things like picnic tables, park benches and planters made of recycled plastic bags and installed in parks, school playgrounds or along recreational trails. The deadline to apply is March 30. In nine years, the Build with Bags grant program has donated $307,462 to more than 180 schools and parks in Iowa.
