Habitat project focuses on Birdland area

The neighborhood will include 23 single-family homes with a focus on connectivity and walkability, with a clustered group of houses that face a shared open space and trail, according to a release. The installation of infrastructure for the neighborhood will begin this winter with house construction beginning in 2018. Greater Des Moines Habitat for Humanity has been busy for most of this year on redevelopment projects in the Birdland area, including repair projects and a 10-home blitz build on Watson Avenue.
