Mary Mincer Hansen has been appointed to a new 15-member National Health Care Workforce Commission. The commission was created under the Affordable Care Act to evaluate the country’s health-care workforce needs and provide unbiased recommendations to Congress on how federal resources can be aligned to meet those needs. Hansen is director of the Masters in Public Health program at the College of Health Sciences at Des Moines University, and former director of the Iowa Department of Public Health.
