Home Depot USA Inc. is leasing 60,000 square feet of space in Grimes’ Prairie Business Park, a lease agreement filed with the Polk County recorder shows. The business park, owned by R&R Realty Group, is located on the southeast corner of Southeast 37th and James streets. Three 250,000- to 300,000-square-foot warehouses have been completed in the development. Plans are underway for a fourth warehouse. Home Depot, which operates a retail store at 10850 Plum Drive in Urbandale, will use the Grimes warehouse space as a distribution center, said Kim Dimson, a Home Depot spokesperson. “This location is part of [Home Depot’s] strategic investment in our supply chain network to offer same day/next day delivery to 90% of the United States,” Dimson wrote in an email. She declined share additional details.
