The Des Moines Area Religious Council has been awarded a $110,00 donation from Hormel Foods Corp. to support its “Mapping an End to Hunger in Greater Des Moines” project, also known as MovetheFood.

The project is an initiative to find a community-wide solution to hunger in Des Moines. The program is designed to identify food shortage issues, establish a food research and action council, integrate public, private and nonprofit resources and create a community-based food-delivery plan.
