House sales up in December and for the year

83 wordsAll Latest News, Real Estate and DevelopmentMore houses were sold in the Des Moines area in December than a year earlier, according to a report released by the Des Moines Area Association of Realtors.
The report said that 662 sales contracts were closed in December, up by 20 over December 2011. There were 3,831 active listings, down from the same period a year ago by more than 500 listings.
The association said in a press release that more than 9,000 houses were sold in 2012, the most since 2007.
