How to help Iowans affected by weekend tornados

Six of the fatalities were near Winterset and one was in Chariton. It was the state’s deadliest tornado outbreak in the last 15 years. We’re thinking of those who lost their lives and their homes. Here’s what to know and some ways you can help:

- There’s a GoFundMe set up for a family whose father and two of the children died near Winterset, while the mother and one child survived with injuries.
- PepperHarrow Farm – a popular fresh cut flower vendor at the Des Moines Farmers’ Market – experienced extensive damage. A GoFundMe has been set up to help rebuild its operations.
- Norwalk suffered widespread damage in Saturday’s storm. (KCCI)
