Hubbell set to start construction on second phase of apartment complex
Hubbell Realty Co. kicked off the construction on the second phase of its Melbourne Apartments at 5150 S.E. 14th St. in Des Moines with a groundbreaking ceremony Tuesday. The $8 million affordable housing project will feature 62 one-to-three bedroom apartments. The first phase of the project was completed in 2010 and consisted of a clubhouse and three buildings with a total of 84 apartments. Those units are 100 percent leased, Hubbell said.
