Hy-Vee Inc. hosted a business summit in Minneapolis where it awarded $50,000 in grants to local minority- and women-owned businesses. The event, called the Hy-Vee Opportunity Inclusive Business Summit, was part of the company’s effort to diversify its supplier base and support minority communities. Fifteen companies participated in the pitch competition, with the grand prize of $30,000 going to Momease Solutions, a women-owned company creating an innovative pumping bra for breast milk extraction. Other winners included All Clean Food, TurnSignl, Dress Up to Calm Down, Soul Grain and Silk Road Wellness.
