Hendrix, most recently president and CEO of Saatchi & Saatchi X, will join Hy-Vee as an executive vice president, chief marketing officer and president of the company’s retail media network, RedMedia. She starts her new position on April 16.

Hendrix was with Saatchi & Saatchi X for nine years. The company is a full-service and shopper marketing agency of Publicis Groupe. At Saatchi & Saatchi X, Hendrix led a client team that partnered with brands and companies including Procter & Gamble, Wendy’s, Kraft, Smucker’s, Samsung and Dreyer’s, according to a news release.

At Hy-Vee, Hendrix will oversee the company’s marketing efforts and work to grow RedMedia and its strategic operations.

“The Hy-Vee brand has always been near and dear to my heart,” Hendrix, an Iowa native, said in a prepared statement. “The company provides unparalleled customer service, whether that’s for a shopper in a store or in how they work with their suppliers. The potential for Hy-Vee to continue to leverage that experience to make a lasting impact in the marketing and retail media space is substantial.”

Hendrix has a bachelor’s degree in English, pre-law and marketing from the University of Iowa. She’s a member of the Path to Purchase Institute and frequently speaks at industry events like Groceryshop and the Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity. Hendrix has served on the boards of several organizations, including Big Brothers Big Sisters.

With Hendrix’s hiring, Anna Stoermer, an executive vice president at Hy-Vee, will transition from the chief marketing officer role into leading Hy-Vee’s merchandising efforts as chief merchandising officer.

Hy-Vee launched RedMedia in September in an effort to help precisely target consumers with help from data and other means.

Hy-Vee, with more than 75,000 employees, has more than 550 grocery and convenience stores in eight Midwestern states. The company has over $13 billion in annual sales.
