IAF Community Enhancement Awards seek nominations for architectural excellence

167 wordsAll Latest News, Nonprofits and PhilanthropyThe Iowa Architectural Foundation has opened nominations for the 2023 Community Enhancement Awards, recognizing exceptional contributions to architectural excellence in Iowa. Individuals, organizations, agencies and communities outside the architectural profession are eligible for nomination. The Community Enhancement Through Architecture and Design Award honors those who have made a positive impact on Iowa’s quality of life through their support of architecture and urban design. Previous winners include Drake University, Shelter House, Principal Financial Group and Grinnell College. A committee of public members and IAF volunteers will review the nominations, followed by a jury composed of architects and public representatives who will select the award recipients. Successful nominees will be notified no later than Aug. 18. Nomination submissions can be made electronically or via hard copy, with a deadline of 5 p.m. June 30. Digital entries are preferred, and the nomination form can be found here. Alternatively, hard copy nominations can be mailed to the Iowa Architectural Foundation at 400 Locust St., Suite 100, Des Moines, IA 50309.
