IBEV acquisition to be complete June 30

202 wordsAll Latest News, Retail and BusinessKEG 1 Iowa has acquired Iowa Beverage Systems. “The Fleck family has been proud to serve and grow in eastern Iowa for 70 years with great products, good jobs, community involvement, and too many friends to count,” Dudley Fleck, executive vice president at IBEV, said in a press release. “It has been rewarding to partner with IBEV and see the company grow and prosper.” The transaction is scheduled to close on June 30. IBEV distributes more than 300 brands of beer and non-alcoholic beverages from over 40 suppliers and breweries in 51 Iowa counties. The company employs 350 workers who serve nearly 5,000 retail customers. It operates out of distribution locations in Des Moines, Cedar Rapids and Davenport. “I have known the owners of KEG1 for decades and trust them to provide great service and products to our customers and to continue to provide a great workplace and increased opportunities for our employees,” Mike Brewington, president of IBEV, said in a press release. KEG 1 stands for Knowledge Exchange Groups and is a distributorship created by Coors Brewing Co. more than 25 years ago. KEG 1 distributorships operate out of Colorado, Kentucky, Missouri and Texas. Incorporation papers for KEG 1 Iowa were filed April 10.
