The Iowa Credit Union Foundation (ICUF) announced the successful completion of the 2023 “People Helping People” Financial Coach Program. The program, conducted virtually in May, brought together 50 participants from 17 different credit unions. The attendees engaged in immersive learning and simulations to enhance their understanding of how people’s relationship with money can impact their financial decision-making, potentially leading to financial hardship. Financial coaches serve as advocates for credit union members, assisting them in navigating challenging financial situations. “ICUF is proud to continue that legacy through our Financial Coach Training Program. We firmly believe that financial coaches can play a pivotal role in the financial lives of their members and communities, setting them on a path to brighter financial futures,” said Ena Babic Barnes, executive director of ICUF. The graduates of the 2023 ICUF “People Helping People” Financial Coach Program can be found on ICUF’s website.
