IDED gives $1.6 million to Iowa City project
The Iowa Department of Economic Development awarded nearly $2 million in grants yesterday, approved at a Vision Iowa Board meeting.
The bulk of the money went to the Terry Trueblood Recreational Area project in Iowa City, which received $1.6 million toward the projected cost of $8.2 million to transform a 207-acre former sand and gravel operation along the Iowa River into a recreational area.
The Wieting Theatre and Opera House restoration in Toledo received $218,000 and the Kothe Memorial Library expansion and renovation project in Parkersburg was awarded $80,000.
