IDED officials lead trade mission to Mexico
Officials from the Iowa Department of Economic Development (IDED) and Iowa’s pork and beef industries are taking part in a trade mission to Mexico this week, aiming to expand Iowa meat exports there.
In the first 11 months of 2010, exports from Iowa to Mexico totaled $1.64 billion, which makes it the state’s No. 2 export market behind Canada.
The delegation includes representatives from the IDED, the Iowa Pork Producers Association and the Iowa Beef Industry Council.
