The Iowa Economic Development Authority Board on Friday approved awards for various businesses and public projects across the state, which will create 16 jobs and result in $72.7 million new capital investment.

Mrs. Clark’s Foods in Ankeny, which manufactures salad dressing and other food products, was awarded tax benefits through the High Quality Jobs program. The company plans to build a 90,000-square-foot building and buy new equipment to accommodate an additional line. Company officials expect the project to be a $25.7 million capital investment creating 12 jobs, one of which is to have a qualifying wage of $35.71 per hour.

The board also awarded tax benefits to Ingredion in Cedar Rapids for its planned new 9,000-square-foot facility with new equipment for its plant-based food ingredient production business. The project is expected to be a $47 million capital investment.

Polk County was awarded a $50,000 Sports Tourism Marketing grant for the Ultimate Fighting Championship mixed martial arts Fight Night at Wells Fargo Arena scheduled on May 3. The promotion for this event will be heavily targeted to an audience within a 3-to-4-mile radius of Des Moines through digital advertising, with an expected audience of 16,500. The total project cost is $100,000.

The Hoover Presidential Foundation was awarded a $400,000 Community Attraction and Tourism grant for a $13.7 million redesign of the 60-year-old Herbert Hoover Presidential Library and Museum in West Branch. The project calls for a 2,250-square-foot expansion of the museum.
