In West Virginia, over half of eligible workers no longer look for jobs

West Virginia has become the only state in the history of the U.S. Labor Department’s collection of state employment data to report a workforce participation rate below 50 percent, MarketWatch reported. The Mountain State’s rate fell to 49.8 percent in November from 50 percent in October. The national rate in December was 62.7 percent. The Iowa rate was 67.4 percent.
