Inc. Magazine has announced the Inc. 5000 2023 rankings, which include 31 Iowa-based companies. Companies on the 2023 Inc. 5000 are ranked according to percentage revenue growth from 2019 to 2022. The minimum revenue required for 2019 is $100,000; the minimum for 2022 is $2 million. The Iowa companies on the list made $1.7 billion in total revenue and added 4,466 jobs in the last three years. Six companies are newly founded, and 19 are repeat honorees. Des Moines-based BLK & Bold Specialty Beverages is the highest-ranked Iowa company at No. 61 with 7,404% three-year growth. Other Des Moines-area companies on the list include Zenith Design + Build at No. 434; Camillus Staffing at No. 465; Coviance at No. 933; JT Logistics at No. 1,419 and VizyPay at No. 1,841. Cities represented on the list include Des Moines, Cedar Rapids, Waukee, Iowa City, Carroll, Sioux City, Milford, Marion, Coralville, Dubuque and Council Bluffs. To qualify, companies must have been founded and generating revenue by March 31, 2019. They must be U.S.-based, privately held, for-profit, and independent, not subsidiaries or divisions of other companies, as of Dec. 31, 2022. The full rankings of Iowa companies is available here.
