His last day with the city will be April 7. He joined the city of Indianola in December 2024 and served as interim city manager during the departure of former Indianola city manager Benjamin Reeves. In his resignation letter, Wagoner explained his intention to return to his previous role as city administrator for Colfax. “Although his tenure with the City of Indianola was shorter than we hoped, Wade’s contributions have been invaluable,” Indianola Mayor Steve Richardson said in a prepared statement. “We appreciate his leadership to our staff and community, his commitment to public service and the progress he was able to make, especially toward development agreements, developer relationships and other Community Development initiatives.” Information about the transition process and search for a new deputy city manager will be released at a future date, a news release said.
