Iowa Community Capital receives $50,000 grant, resources from Bank of America

Bank of America named Iowa Community Capital as its 2024 Neighborhood Champion in Iowa, awarding the nonprofit a $50,000 grant over two years and other resources. According to a news release, Iowa Community Capital works to identify and address gaps in access to capital and technical assistance for low-income and underserved entrepreneurs. In addition to the grant, the nonprofit will receive leadership training resources for the organization’s executive director and access to technical coaching and a national network of nonprofit peers. The new grant will support Iowa Community Capital’s Solidarity Microfinance Program, which provides minority and women entrepreneurs loans ranging from $500 t0 $15,000. Since 2014 the program has served over 500 entrepreneurs and lended more than $10 million in loans, the release said. Bank of America launched the Neighborhood Champion program five years ago and provides grant funding to nonprofits in nearly 40 communities nationwide.
