The Iowa Demon Hawks, a Major Arena Soccer League 2 team, will return to Des Moines for the 2023-2024 season and play its home games at Buccaneer Arena, according to m2soccer.com. League officials and team owner Darwin Salas recently spent a full day at the arena, making sure the turf, glass and boards would be ready for the team’s home opener on Dec. 8 against the Iowa Raptors. The 3,450-seat arena is also home to the Des Moines Buccaneers of the United States Hockey League. The Iowa Demon Hawks and Iowa Raptors shared the Alliant Energy Powerhouse in Cedar Rapids last year and are both set to begin their second seasons in M2 this fall.
